National Guard Association of New Hampshire (NGANH)

December 2006
Fellow Officers:
I wish I had a snappy
by-line that would make it easier to tell you about the National
Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) but I don’t, and
it would be a disservice to do so. Simply stated, NGAUS is a
professional association that looks out for the best interests
of the Air and Army National Guard. The successes of NGAUS are
many – in fact most of our current benefits, pay, missions and
force structure are all a product of the National Guard
Association working hard with Congress.
I am writing to you because
it is the beginning of our CY 2007 membership drive and we are
looking for your new or continued membership.
Why the National Guard
Association? Because it lobbies for our (and your) future. The
NGAUS represents the desires of the National Guard in forums
where we cannot politically or legally tread. As you know the
National Guard is primarily a state activity that also has a
federal commitment; the struggle is that often times Congress
forgets the former and relies on the latter to determine our
future. The NGAUS is a voice for the National Guard when
Congress desires to learn or does not want to confront
what is best for the Guard.
The benefits of joining are
many – you become a part of our future; you remain informed on
key issues and as a citizen soldier are given the background to
support the decisions you feel will shape our future; and
in-turn you can inform your New Hampshire representatives to
Congress what you want them to support. You also support
the efforts of the NGAUS so they can continue to fight for us –
a job they do well.
The cost of a membership is
minimal compared to the cost of our future. I urge you to
consider joining or continuing your membership.
Sincerely,
/s/
Michael Domingue, Major
President, National Guard Association of NH
